HELPING YOUR CHILD SUCCEED
*Below is a list of skills that we will work on throughout the school year.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Write first & last name, as well as 26 capital and lowercase letters; 8 basic colors;know letter/sound correspondences for all letters of the alphabet;sequence stories and objects;identify vocabulary and high frequency words; answer questions about a story; rhyme; blend sounds to make words; follow left to right on a page; make new words by omitting beginning/ending sounds; identify asking/telling sentences.
MATH:
Identify 4 basic shapes; count from 1-100; count objects and make sets of objects to 20; name numerals 0-20; recognize and extend 2 and 3 step patterns; order sets from least to greatest and vice versa; write numerals 0-10+; understand more than, less than and same as; construct and read graphs; and solve simple addition and subtraction problems.

REPORT CARDS WILL GO HOME ON THE FRIDAY FOLLOWING THE END OF EACH SIX WEEKS
*Remember to sign your child's report card and return it to me the next school day.

*FRIDAY FOLDER-
A folder is sent home every Friday. Please sign and return your child's Friday Folder the next school day.
*READING FOLDER-
Reading homework is Monday-Thursday. Please sign each story and return your child's reader daily.(You will be notified when your child has reading homework.)
*BIRTHDAY PARTIES-
Please feel free to celebrate your child's birthday at school. Just let me know the day and time.
*TREATS/SNACKS-

Treats/snacks are randomly given out to students.  Parents are encouraged to send items for our treasure chest. Party favors, nuts, pretzels, cheese crackers, cheetoes, raisins, M&M's, skittles and so forth make great treats and positive reinforcers. 
*TRANSPORTATION-
If there is a change in the way your child is going home, please call the school AND send a note.
*SUPPLIES-
Markers and water color paint should be replaced when your child returns from Christmas Break.
